Just as the title suggests, Venus Williams has won the WTA championships, destroying Vera Zvonareva in the final.Venus beat Jelena Jankovic, the world no.1 in the semis, and in the final, she was serving so hard and accurate in the last few games of the third set, Vera had no chance.
This was a quality match, but i still felt that last year's final was much better.
It was between Justine Henin and Maria Sharapova, both were playing very well. The match was exciting from start to finish becoz the score was so close, either one of them could have won... That match was really long, took more than 3 hours to finish...
It's a pity Justine has retired, as for Maria, i hope she gets well soon and stay injury free in 2009. But right now, Venus is the one to beat.
The men's version of the championship, called the Masters Cup is on this week in Shanghai & i will blog about it soon =)
