goodbye again

haih... i can't seem to believe how quickly time flies. before you know it, my six days of CNY holidays are coming to an end. Soon i will be returning to 'hell'. Well, actually NS isn't that bad, but the fact that i have to be away from the comforts and pleasures of home - for so long! - really is upsetting. I guess this is how life works and I should just enjoy and be involved as much as possible in the things that are happening to me. To be honest, i think i'm lucky to be selected for national service as it is truly a once in a lifetime experience. even though i like to complain about many things there, i'm sure i will look back at this 3 months someday and say for sure it was worth it.

For now, here's a video suitably titled 'time is running out'. special thanks to zi yang for teaching me how to use the video application=)

So long and goodbye for now. Take care guys. Look forward to seeing everyone soon.

kylie = change

If you don't already know I'm a super big fan of Kylie Minogue. Have been since 2002 if i can recall correctly. Recently Kylie has marked her comeback in the music industry after recovering from breast cancer and has gone a long way since then. Not only did she completed her previously postponed 'Showgirl Homecoming' tour, she launched a fantastic album, 'X' - her 10th studio album to date. There was also the 'Kylie Exhibition' to showcase many of her outfits she wore over the years be it on stage, the red carpet or in music videos. She also published a children's book, the Showgirl Princess and has her own fragrances, 'Darling' and 'Sweet Darling'. Kylie has also inspired Sweedish fashion giant H&M to create 'H&M Loves Kylie', a beachwear collection. And the latest, Kylie will be the image of Spanish luxury brand TOUS until 2010, oh and she has also launched her own home furnishngs line which includes bed linen, cushions, curtains.

So that was a quick update (sorry i just had to do it). Anyway what I really want to share is how amazingly kylie can change and evolve. Her career in pop music has lasted more than 20 years (1987 - now) and believe me if she hadn't change herself style and music wise she wouldn't have the success and staying power. It's really fun to listen to Kylie's music and watch her live shows because you never see the same thing twice.

Her most recent offering, 'X' is just that. It's new, funky and downright enjoyable music that will get you grooving and shaking all round. However, I find the music videos for her 2 latest singles, 'Wow' and the European release 'In My Arms' to be a bit too... strange. There's nothing wrong with the songs, i love them both, but i feel the concept of the videos are just not suitable with the music and at times i feel confused and clueless. Maybe it's because i have been in NS for so long and have just not caught up with kylie's current style and development. Perhaps after seeing it a few more times understanding will follow.

Check out the videos for yourself:

Wow

In My Arms

No matter what I will always be a Kylie fan because i have already been captivated by Kylie's spell. =)

(Isn't it strange, this post feels like a music review. i just became a music reviewing expert.... muahahahahahahaha)

change is wonderful

For better or for worse, people change. In my case, it's a good change. I'm refering to personal development. I realised that we are undergoing continuous change whether we like it to happen or not as life goes on. We are influenced by so many things in life, but of course i only try to emulate what i feel is right. Every experience is a new lesson, and my perspective of life is constantly changing. I think this is a process of self discovery, and it's really really exciting because we never really know what our limits are until we explore them.

Last year was a year of big change for me, especially in the last few months. I thought I had changed to a point where it would just stop, but right now after going to NS for 5 weeks and coming back home for CNY I feel somewhat different. So something tells me I still have a long way to go and I'm just flooded with anticipation.

OK, if this doesn't make any sense or if it's starting to get too sentimental for your taste just forget it. haha =)

hehe...what's next?

Even i do not know. just wanted to start a blog. i know, i know this isn't the first (think Friendster blog - a disaster) but hey why not. I was actually inspired by my class blog and i thought it would be great if i could have my own so that i can share my experiences and thoughts with everyone. It takes great commitment to run a blog and i'm not sure if i have what it takes. So let's just give it a shot. =)
