Off I Go (Again)

School is about to start soon.

I'm not exactly ready to pack up the holiday spirit yet though.

That's why I will be going for a road trip with my sis and Gerard tomorrow morning.

Not sure where or what we are going to see, but the plan is to head up North. Just a car and a map. Should be stopping by at Taiping and Kuala Kangsar.

Usually i prefer to go on trips that are well planned, but this is kinda fun too.
It's like a mystery. Don't even know where we'll be spending the night.

Better start thinking of what to bring.

I just hope we come back safely. =P
Being spontaneous adventurous is not really my thing.
Wish me luck.

Till then, bye!

Post Christmas

It's been a fun Christmas, and before u know it, ppl are already starting to talk about CNY, which is just about a month away.

This Christmas my family had the gift exchange like last year. Opening Christmas gifts is like the highlight of this holiday. This year we had 8 participants. I got 2 interesting T shirts. (see pics)

Also had a nice home cooked Christmas dinner. Yesterday went to Chili's for dessert. The Molten Chocolate Cake is so delicious it makes your taste buds go 'wow'.

Hehehe btw i just finished work on a cool new blog header, which will be unveiled in the new year of course. What you see now is just temporary.

Enough of words, I'll let the pictures do the talking.

The before and after pic.

Needless to say, we all loved it.

Playin with lyrics

Ever heard a song that u just can't catch what the artist is singing?

While watching the KylieX2008 dvd yesterday, the song 'Sensitized' captivated me. I never realised how catchy the lyrics were until yesterday.

They're some really catchy lines in several songs of the 'X' album.

My favourite line from Sensitized is
'Can't deny how hot I'm feeling, if my body could fly I'd hit the ceiling.'
The way it's sung is fantastic.
There is a similar line later in the track:
'Can't deny how rude I'm feeling, if my body could talk you'd hear me screaming.'

If you hav time, take a listen.

Here are some other cool lines.

From 'Speakerphone'
-'To your head bone, temple bone, through your jaw bone, to your neck bone, collarbone, let it go on to your backbone, moving on through your hipbone'

From 'The One'
-'Glimmering under neon lights, I can see the look that's in your eyes, like a shooting star in the galaxy, making its way to the heart of me'

From 'Wow' (i love this one)
-'The way you walk, the rhythm when you're dancing, every inch of you smells of desire, you're such a rush, the rush is never ending now you got it, you wow wow wow wow'

From 'Nu-di-ty' (rather suggestive)
-'Flash it in fashion to me, skin to skin, body to body, dare to never, never let me see'

-'Time to strip down, time to strip down, just pop that zipper for me and work that thing out. Just expose it, coz u know its alright'

-'Let it go, here we go, just let it slip inside. That's right, here we go, one button at a time, who cares who sees tonight?'

From 'No More Rain' (most meaningful track on X)
-'Have you ever thought that the sky was just endlessly dark? And then you look up, and see a million stars'

-'Have you ever dreamt you were flying until you looked down, you never moved an inch, feet firmly on the ground'

-'Wave of love coming over me, got a glitter drop to fall and I'm on my knees, got the sound of you ringing in my ears'

-'Sun coming up on another day, got a second hand chance, gonna do it again, got rainbow colours and no more rain'

Thx for reading =)

memories of X 2008

It's been exactly one month since Singapore.
The X2008 tour concluded recently in Melbourne.

I just watched the show again this morning on DVD. Yup, i bought the disc a few days ago in a Speedy store. Haha I have to admit it's so much clearer (and cheaper!) to watch it on TV than live. But NOTHING beats the live concert experience. Totally priceless.

Going to the show has been one of the highlights of my 2008.

Here's a Kylie Christmas song, 'Santa Baby'.

The Comeback

Not that i've been away or out, but the fact that I'm finally 100% well is worth celebrating.

You know what's the best part about being sick?
It really gives u a whole new appreciation of what it means to be healthy.

Sometimes we take things for granted. Only when it's gone, we realize how important it is.
That's the end of my illness. Don't want to talk about it anymore.

There is actually so much that i want to blog about. Now that i can, i don't know where to start.

Er... I guess I should start by wishing everyone a Happy Christmas! This is one of my favourite holidays. It's just the atmosphere at the shopping malls, the colourful decorations, everyone seems to be in a jolly mood, the buying of gifts, etc. What a wonderful way to close out a year.

2008 has been good overall. One of the less stressful years for me, that's for sure.

So i hope u hav a really jolly good time this Christmas, one filled with laughter, gifts and delicious meals! =)

don't wanna go to bed now

that's what i'm thinking of now.

Just came home from a S5 gathering at Chor Yeng's house.
Quite pleasant to see that many came. About 20 i think.
Thanks to Jie Hui for contacting every1. =)

It was a pot luck, so there was lots of food but its awful that i can't eat anything. Still sick.
I still found pleasure in watching other ppl eat though haha..

Everyone is pretty much the same. Except for Terence's new hair style.
5S5 is just the way i remembered it.
LOUD!
I mean in a good way. Can be a little overwhelming but it's still very warm.

Now that i'm home it seems so quiet.
But actually everyone is still awake. Mum's playing mahjong with relatives, dad's watching TV, sis is doing work with her friend. This is one of the more happening nights coz a number of relatives are spending the weekend at our place.

Hah...... I never realised how peaceful the late night can be. I must say I like it. Maybe i should stay up more often. There's just this clarity going on right now... My mind seems so calm. These days it's hard to feel like this when i'm busy getting troubled by illness.

Right now all i want is to get better. Hopefully before Christmas.
Then i can really sit down and enjoy a meal. =)

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrr......

I can't believe i'm still ill. I feel even sicker today.
It's not life threatening but so damn right annoying and frustrating.

Arrrgggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I just can't get rid of it.

Trying my best to stay positive.
Trying hard to NOT think about it but it's tough to ignore when your body feels so wrong.

Just feel like ramming my head against the wall. Oh wait.
Then i'll have a giant hole to worry about. Sigh. At least my sarcasm is still spot on.

R U Kidding Me?

Just when i thought everything was fine.
Actually during my Penang trip i was feeling a little sick due to the endless eating. When i came back i was OK. Boy was i wrong.

Started feeling strange on Monday. Must be something i ate for breakfast, or something before that just accumulated in my system.

Long story short: bad case of food poisoning

This has never happened before. Usually its just mild diarrhoea, but this time its quite severe. I'm sure u don't want to hear the details. Anyway, went to see the doc. Turns out i got some kind of infection of the intestine. Stomach was bloated.

Sigh.

Been M.I.A for the past 2 days. Feel so helpless. There's so much that i want to do but all i can do is lie around like a sedated animal. Still not fully recovered. No appetite to eat, occasionally resisting the urge to throw up. This is how i spend my days now. Sucks rite!

How long more do i hav to be like this? =(

Hey!

I'm back from my 4 day adventure.

Was super tired but i had lots of fun. Slept like a pig last nite. Woke up around 11am.

And i just realised something. Recently Penang & Melaka were recognised as World Heritage Sites by Unesco right? So that means i've been to both places in as many days. Although it has no significance, i just think its a cool coincidence.

Oh btw my MUFY exam results are out! Actually saw my results online on the 10th, but i've just haven't got the time to post about it here. Erm i guess i did well, considering all 4 are high distinctions. But just as i've predicted, its a little bit shy of scholarship material...

Will post pics of Melaka and Penang trip soon. =)

Camp Visit - Part 2

Sorry i had to break it into 2. And a Kylie post in between haha.

OK, anyway on Monday i went back to school in the morning. One cool thing about being an ex-senior is that u can come & go whenever u want. The team test was supposed to be in the morning but the organisers rescheduled it to the evening. This year's camp has been hit by consistent rainfall, which really sucks coz it gets in the way of plans.
After having breakfast at Kanna Curry House (hav not been there for ages), we went to MV. Just Yee Thong, Chai Yee, Lok Mun, Jit Teng n I. Watched 'Bolt' in 3D, the ticket was RM17! But the show was reli good. I think its the best animated movie of the year. But not necessary to watch in 3D, the normal version will do. Exciting plot, super cute dogs, touching storyline (to the extend that CY was in tears), what more can u ask for?

After that went karaoke... first time karaoke with pbsm gang. It was a fun experience. The Redbox in The Gardens is much nicer than the one in Pyramid. Had a nice little room and we never stopped singing. Lok Mun & Chai Yee sing well.
Went back to CHS in the evening. Saw the team test. OK, i must say it was quite disappointing coz i was expecting a better performance from my juniors. But then again camp team test is always very informal and messy. So i hope they'll raise the bar during their senior test next year. Or all the ex-seniors will be put to shame. I hope they will take First Aid seriously and master the basics at least.
At nite was the campfire and BBQ. I didn't hang around long coz BBQ is not really my thing. Especially the ones at school. Kinda makes me sick. Literally. Later that night they had the OBH. Its 'Operasi Burung Hantu' for those of u that do not know. Generally it involves walking alone in the dark, having to go to scary places alone, blindfolds, and screams.
So that concludes my status as an ex-senior for another year. I'm excited to see what 2009 has installed for PBSM SL(Y)64, oh i mean BSMM SL(Y)64. =)

Kylie Gets Grammy Nod

Kylie has been nominated for a Grammy for the 5th time in her career, having won one back in 2004 for Best Dance Recording for 'Come Into My World'.

This time, her album 'X' has been recognised in the Best Electronic/Dance Album category. She will be up against Brazilian Girls, Daft Punk, Moby, Cyndi Lauper and Robyn.

The 51st Grammy Awards will be held in February 2009. Good luck Kylie! =)
In other news, Kylie will be co-hosting the 2009 Brit Awards early next year. The Brits is one of the most prestigious music awards in the UK.
Also, there are reports that Kylie will be singing for the upcoming Bollywood movie 'Blue'. Look forward to listen to that one =P

Camp Visit

It's been a while since I went back to CHS.
The moment I stepped into the compound & saw my friends playing with hula hoops like little kids, it felt strange... as though i had step back in time.

On first look, it feels comforting to see that some things never change. But upon careful observation, i realised actually a lot has changed. In my eyes, my juniors will always be juniors, kids that will never grow up and u can't stop worrying about them. So it was quite shocking to see how much they have grown, physically and mentally i guess.

OK OK i just made one big round to kick myself in the ass suggesting that i'm old. But for those of u who r now in college, i'm sure u will agree when i say that its a big leap from high school life to college life. Reminiscing those good old days makes u feel like u hav grown.

Enough of the emo stuff, i wll talk about what happened. Sunday nite was the Malam Kebudayaan, which i think the term has lost meaning now. Long ago, mlm kebudayaan was about wearing traditional clothes and performing cultural dances. But now its modernised.. this year's performance included songs from Britney, Jolin and Super Junior. Whoa everyone laughed like crazy when a boy who was imitating Britney dressed in red and wore a wig and danced to Oops I Did It Again. So hilarious. And i must give credit to Yu Song for his gutsy performance. Brilliant stuff!

After laughing till my stomach hurt, i went bak while some of them stayed overnite...

To be continued...

Bee-ware

OK, sorry for the lame title. Can't think of anything else. If u hav been reading this blog, u would know that my brain left me for vacation.

Yesterday went to Bukit Gasing with my sis & Gerard for a walk/jungle trekking. My first time there actually. The track was clear and had many signs to point the way, it was easy compared to the hell i went through at Bukit Cahaya and Gua Musang.
When we were almost at the exit, suddenly my sis felt something in her hair. Seconds later a bee like insect flew out. I don't say bee becoz i'm not sure what it was. Bee/Hornet/Wasp. It was black and huge. But it was too late. She was stung and in pain. We went to the clinic.

This comes to show that nature can strike anytime for no reason. Seriously. I was just a few steps behind her. That thing could hav rammed into me instead. That's why i'm not fond of going to foresty places. I hav this paranoid feeling that something will attack me.

I tot it would be interesting to compile a list of things that terrify me. I mean terrify, not scare. Otherwise the list would be endless hahaha.
1. Snakes (I would rather run into a bear than a snake)
2. Bees (Dunno why. Just afraid of them.)
3. Being alone esp. at night when its so quiet
4. Going to scary places on my own in the dark. (had a creepy experience b4)
5. Hospitals. Isn't it ironic that i was the president of pbsm...
6. Parking or reversing a car in tight, small places. I'm never comfortable as a driver.

Now that u know what makes me shiver, u know what to do if u ever want to threaten me. =)

Oh my arms and legs r sore from playing tennis and badminton today. Played with Yu Xuan, Lok Mun and also Jing Hooi. Jit Teng wasn't well so he didn't join us. In total we played about 4 hours. Talk about a workout. And i realised i always get sun burn easily. Only spent about 1 and a half hours under the sun and i'm red. Sensitive skin sucks. Luckily the burns heal fast.

That's it for now. Time to rest =)

New Track

What happens when you mix Kylie with Coldplay?

Earlier this year there was news about Coldplay recording a track with Kylie, but the song was not in Coldplay's album Viva La Vida becoz Chris Martin said it was too sexy for the album.

The song entitled "Lhuna" is now being released in conjunction with World Aids Day. I'm not really admiring this track, but being a Kylie fan, i like all the material that she releases, no matter how strange they may sound, eventually i'll like it after a few listens. =P

Have a listen. It's interesting...

Oh Crap Its December

I didn't know it was already December until i saw the date on someone's blog.

Seriously, for the past few days I thought November had 31 days. Then when I did the finger knuckle counting thing I realize November has 30 days. It took me a while to remember that the back-to-back months with 31 days were actually July & August.

Talk about stupidity... I think my brain left me the moment my holidays started. Luckily i won't be needing much of it for the rest of this month haha.

Not doing anything productive lately. Gettin a little sick of the holidays. But still better than studying. There r some exciting plans and gatherings for this month. Christmas is coming too. Hope its fun! =)
